RE: 2nd and revised edition of ‘Yes we care! has been published
Dear colleagues,
We are glad to let you know that the second and revised edition of Yes we care! has been published. The first edition
grew out of the conference in Venice in 2011. This second revised edition includes rewritten and polished articles from
the first edition, but also three additional articles and an introduction by Joe Melnick.
On the back of this book Malcolm Parlett writes:
Yes we care! is full of vital re-thinking that supports a growing urgency in Gestalt thought: to reclaim political
roots and values; engage directly with communities; apply ‘field’ thinking to people’s experiences – and release
hope, courage, and sanity amid struggle, danger, and uncertainty. May it inspire new waves of ‘practice beyond
the therapy room’ as a ‘must read’ book.
Since the Annual General Meeting agreed to incorporate the social, political and cultural dimensions of the field theory
more explicit in the core curriculum of our the Training Standards, this book is an important educational tool. But also
for all Gestalt therapists who understand the importance of the awareness of this social, political and cultural field
within or beyond the therapy room.
The entire profit from the sale of this book will be given to projects of our HR&SR committee, like further support of
colleagues in the conflict in Ukraine and in detention centres of tortured refugees in Greece.
The book is available by sending an email to the office manager of EAGT eagtoffice@planet.nl indicating the number of
copies, your name and shipping address. After receipt of your payment (which can be done by bank transfer or through
PayPal which is linked to our website http://www.eagt.org/membership.htm) we will send you the book(s).
With kind regards,
On behalf of the Human Rights and Social Responsibility Committee
